For enthusiasts of water sports, especially windsurfing, this area of Paros is a real paradise. The meltemi, the strong Aegean summer wind, is perfect here for sailing, and all the other conditions of the place are ideal: excellent facilitis and services (well-equipped hotels and surf clubs, restaurants, bars, shops..) easy access and many beaches for all levels: beginners, advanced and champion windsurfers. The most popular and best organised beaches are those of Chrissi Akti ( Golden Beach) and Nea Chrissi Akti ( New Golden Beach or Tserdakia), followed by Logaras and Pisso Livadi. The long sandy beach of Chrissi Akti, one of the most beautiful of the island, is especially suitable for learning to surf, as well as for top-class sailing.
There are two windsurfing clubs here offering excellent services (equipment for hire, lessons for beginners and advanced windsurfers, resque boat) along with hotels, restaurants and bars.
The sandy Nea Chrissi Akti (New Golden Beach) is also very well organized with well-equipped surfclub which was the organizer of two international windsurfing events held annually.
